HEROES UNITED TO HEAL FOUNDATION

Overcoming is possible. We’ve done it before.

PTSD is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of absolute strength. PTSD is earned by doing what most people fear. You are not alone in this fight. As veterans and first responders, we understand the hidden wounds of trauma and together, we will overcome.

I had the pleasure of interacting with Donna through her book, Courageously Broken. After reading, I learned about her organization and mission to help individuals heal through PTSD and stop veteran suicide.
This organization is near and dear to my heart as a retired Air Force veteran who struggled with my transition after twenty years of service.

In 2020 my world fell apart. I lost my marriage of 18 years and my life changed drastically. After being suicidal and depressed for a decade, I finally received a diagnosis of PTSD as a result of the severe trauma I experienced during my 21 years of military service.

“ I wholeheartedly endorse Heroes United to Heal after attending a community event! For years, my family has watched my brother struggle with the symptoms of PTSD, and thanks to this wonderful organization, he's finally found support and professional help specializing in trauma for veterans and first responders. Their connections have led him to credible resources prioritizing people over profit. He’s in the process of securing a service dog without lengthy waits or hefty costs. Our family is eternally grateful for restoring hope to my brother and our entire family!”
together, we can heal from the invisible wounds sustained while serving our country and communities
How do we do that? For starters, Buddy Check! Call one another, check on each other, pay attention and listen. If you notice something different about a brother or sister… ASK THEM what is going on. Just knowing you care enough to ask goes a long way.
